We started in May and the Northants Steelbacks have taken the silverware for a record-equalling third time.

Hampshire's Joe Weatherley finishes as the tournament's top run scorer and creates a new record for the number of runs scored by an individual batsman on finals day while Sonny Baker took a career-best 5-21, but it's all for nothing.

Richard Vasconcelos's highest T20 score of 88 and three wickets for James Sales help to get Northants over the line.

Best team all season. Unfashionable and never get the plaudits they deserve.

    Simon - Heathrow Airport

You have to say the Steelbacks were the most consistent team throughout the earlier rounds and continued this form in the semi and final. Well deserved for the outstanding team in the competition

The Steelbacks' Chris Lynn finished as the tournament's third highest run-scorer and has been speaking to Sky Sports:

"I was in this position with Hampshire last season and fell short - it means a lot to play with someone like (head coach) Darren Lehmann.

"We didn't even bat 40 overs today and we've managed to scrape through with the title.

"Everyone has contributed throughout the season which is really exciting.

"Not every game we blasted teams out, we had to scrap and fight and it's been an all-round team performance.

"You actually have more bad days than good in cricket so we're going to celebrate this."
