    Jofra Archer doesn't seem too bothered about not taking the new ball for the first time in 68 internationals across formats but it's an expensive start from the England quick. He gives Pavan Rathnayake one to flick off the pads and follows it up with one short and wide. Room for improvement.

    Well, fair enough, you're not going to get to the total by just knocking it around.

    Kusal Mendis going for that pull. A good bounce from Gus Atkinson, England have started well here.

    The extra bounce is catching the Sri Lankan players out a bit.

    That might be that. I'm going early but that's Sri Lanka's big three batters out as Kusal Mendis skews as pull into the air. He had played that shot nicely previously. This time it's snaffled by Tom Banton at square leg.

    Kusal Mendis now picks a Sonny Baker delivery up and plonks it over the rope at square leg.

    Mendis, who drives for four at the end of the over, scored 122 on Thursday at Headingley and has brought that form down the M1.

    Kamindu Mendis was going for that whip over mid-wicket, he did time it, but it went straight up.

    Kamindu Mendis is trying take the aerial route again but all he manages here is to send the ball a mile into the sky. It's one of those nervy catches for Ben Duckett at square leg but, having had plenty of time to think about it, he gobbles it up.
