Tolchard aiming for first gold in bowls final

England's Sam Tolchard will be aiming to win his first Commonwealth Games gold medal after reaching the men's singles bowls final.

Tolchard beat Northern Ireland's Gary Kelly 2-0 in the semi-final and will face Malaysia's Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple in the gold medal match on Tuesday morning.

The Torquay bowler, an electrician by trade, is competing in his fifth Games and has previously secured bronze and silver medals for England.

It will also be England against Malaysia in the women's pairs final after Amy Pharaoh and Sian Honnor and beat Wales on a tie-break in their semi-final.

Meanwhile, England will face Scotland in the Para-bowls mixed pairs B2-B3 final following a 2-0 win over Wales in the semi-finals.

Both of those contests will also take place on Tuesday morning.
