They'll be crossing the finish line in around 27 minutes' time after completing 25 laps of the track.

There's a trio of British runners going for gold in the men's 10,000m final tonight.

David Mullarkey made history in Glasgow earlier this month by becoming the Isle of Man’s first ever Commonwealth medallist in athletics, with bronze.

US-based Brit Scott Beattie was fifth in that final and ranks second among the entrants on season’s bests.

Joe Wigfield, meanwhile, was crowned the UK Athletics champion in 10,000m earlier this year with a personal best of 28:56.39.

Job done for Morgan Lake on the opening height of the women's high jump final.

The British athlete failed to clear the first height in the final of the Commonwealth Games a few weeks ago, but she's successful leapt over 1.83m on her first attempt.

World and former Olympic champion Pedro Pichardo won this title in 2022 but had to settle for silver two years ago (winner Jordan Diaz hasn’t competed this year).

Reigning world and European indoor champion Andy Díaz Hernandez produced a world-leading mark of 17.87m at the recent Italian Championships. Fellow Italian and world silver medallist Andrea Dallavalle has cleared 17.42m this season.

There are no Brits in this final, so we will bring you the result from this event later tonight.

It is every athlete's dream to walk off that track and think that you gave everything.

Keely reacted to everything and I think she accepted Audrey Werro was a little bit stronger on the day.

That said, she said she was a bit heartbroken.

She wanted to win this title, she wanted to win it in the UK, she wanted to win it for herself as well as for the fans.

It is almost like a new villain comes every single year. She keeps having to respond. So proud that Keely is the consistent one. She has now won 15 medals from 15 international championships. It is phenomenal.

We wouldn't have said Natalia Bukowiecka was a red-hot favourite.

We know she has beaten everyone in this race this season. She committed herself, but unfortunately didn't have the legs to hang on.

Henriette Jaeger was so, so strong. She destroyed the field in the last 80m.

Away they go in what should be a very close race.

But we are straight to the track for the women's 400m final, where we have British representation in Charlotte Henrich and Yemi Mary John - but sadly no Amber Anning, who has aggravated a hamstring injury.

And there's the confirmation that Katarina Johnson-Thompson has finished 21st out of 21 athletes.

Far from her best, but hopefully it's the start of a comeback for the two-time world champion.

Her fellow Briton Jade O'Dowda finishes 13th on 6191 points - 560 behind Kate O'Connor's 6751, which is an Irish record.

Britain's Morgan Lake is going in tonight's high jump final, which is just about to get under way.

No British woman has won a continental high jump medal since 1971.

But the 29-year-old hasn't had the best of seasons, with a knee injury not helping matters. She's only managed a season's best of 1.88m, while she failed to clear the opening height of 1.82m at the Commonwealth Games earlier this month.

The overwhelming favourite will be Yaroslava Mahuchikh of Ukraine, who is unbeaten in 2026 and holds the world record in the event after a 2.10m jump at the Paris Diamond League in 2024.

Last year’s world indoor champion Amber Anning withdrew from the Commonwealth Games to continue her rehabilitation from early-season hamstring issues. She has been forced to withdraw tonight too.

But Yemi Mary John became the youngest Brit to break the 50-second barrier with a time of 49.85 sec in May and is in contention here, as is Anning's late replacement Charlotte Henrich who was the fastest non-qualifier from the previous round.

Reigning champion Natalia Bukowiecka of Poland set a quick season’s best of 49.57 sec to win her semi-final ahead of Czech world indoor gold medallist Lurdes Gloria Manuel. Dutch European indoor champion Lieke Klaver is another likely medal challenger.

Arguably the favourite is Henriette Jaeger. She has run 49.60 sec or quicker in three races this season, including a European leading 49.15 in London last month.

Jaeger anchored Norway to mixed relay gold on Monday – her 49.5 sec split was the fastest in the final by a woman – and is favourite to add the senior European title to her under-23 crown.

Tonight's first field final features no British interest, but nevertheless provides plenty of intrigue.

The two clear favourites are both 90m throwers at best and have traded gold and silver at the past two European Championships.

The defending champion is Jakub Vadlejch of Czechia, for whom gold with his final throw in Rome came after five major silver or bronze medals.

Germany’s Julian Weber threw a season leading 87.04m last month.
