The MacTavish Cup final in Inverness will be the competition's first Badenoch derby final in 17 years after Kingussie and Newtonmore reached the 13 June showpiece.

Holders Kingussie upped their two-game goal tally to 25 without reply with an 8-0 eclipse of second-tier Lovat, while Newtonmore had to depend on a penalty shootout following a 3-3 draw with Caberfeidh.

A game of two halves at Kiltarlity saw Kingussie - who a week earlier defeated Kyles 17-0 - rush to an 8-0 half time lead.

Four from Roddy Young were backed up by singles from Savio Genini, Dylan Borthwick, Ruaridh Anderson and Rory Munro, but the second half produced a complete blank.

When Struan Ross made it 2-0 following Drew MacDonald's early opener in Strathpeffer, Newtonmore looked home and dry.

However, Gavin MacLaughlan soon struck back for Caberfeidh and an own goal from 55-year-old Newtonmore keeper Kenny Ross sent the game to extra time.

Matthew Sloss edged Newtonmore back in front and Farquhar MacRae grabbed Cabers' second equaliser with five minutes remaining. Ross then redeemed himself in the penalty shootout where Newtonmore progressed 3-2.

The Celtic Society Cup final in Glasgow will match holders Oban Camanachd - 6-1 winners over Inveraray - and Glasgow Mid Argyll, who defeated Col Glen from the league above them 3-2.

In largely one way traffic at Mossfield, Oban gained their place with first-half goals from Connor Howe and Malcolm Clark and a second-half double from Daniel Madej followed by strikes from Craig MacMillan and Daniel MacVicar.

Ruaraidh Graham got a late consolation for Inveraray.

At Clachan of Glendaruel, Neilly MacNaughton and Brandon Wilson had Premiership Col Glen 2-0 up in half an hour. However a Calum Morrison double and one from Ross Brown, all before half time, sealed it for National Division Mid Argyll.

Fort William moved up to third in the Premiership with a 3-0 away win over Kyles.

A goal from Fort's Victor Smith split a double from Archie MacKinnon without reply at Tighnabruich.

Beauly progressed to a Tulloch Camanachd Cup second round tie at home to Oban Camanachd with a 4-2 success at Aberdour.

Angus MacCallum's response for Aberdour cancelled Louie MacLellan's opener for Beauly. Leon MacLellan gave Beauly a 2-1 half time lead before Ciaran Burns' second equaliser.

Louie MacLellan then completed his hat trick to put Beauly through.

A Charlie MacLeod double in a 4-0 victory on Bute sent Glenurquhart three points clear in the National Division.

Oban Celtic's 7-1 home defeat by Kilmallie leaves them bottom of the National Division with a goal difference of minus 41 after six games.
