It will now be an agonising wait for the Wales women's gymnastics squad following their fine performance in the team event in Glasgow.

After a good start on the uneven bars, Wales wobbled slightly on the balance beam before finishing with strong performances on the floor and vault.

Wales lead after the second rotation with a score of 153.400, but there are still four teams left to go.

England, Australia, Canada and South Africa compete in the final session and Wales will know that 152.700 was enough for Canada to take bronze at Birmingham 2022.

Wales' only previous medal in the Women's team event was bronze in Glasgow 12 years ago.

The 2026 quintet of twins Emily and Abigail Roper, Ruby Evans, Jemima Taylor and Frank Stone will now sit and wait to see if they end up on the podium on Saturday night.
