
TPLF – ‘Abiy risks absolute disintegration of the Ethiopian state’
Fresh fighting has disrupted the humanitarian truce in northern Ethiopia, between the government and Tigrayan forces.
The five-month humanitarian truce in Ethiopia has now been disrupted by renewed fighting in the north, with the Ethiopian government accusing rebel Tigrayan forces of starting it. The TPLF have denied this.
Also in Angola, citizens await the election outcome as provisional results suggest that President João Lourenço's governing party, MPLA, has the lead with 80% of votes counted according to the National Election Commission while the opposition movement, Unita, has just under 43%.
