Angolans vote in the most competitive elections for decades

Reports and analysis of the day's political, economic and sports news from across Africa.

Angolans have been voting in presidential and parliamentary elections. The current head of state, João Lourenço, of the governing MPLA is up against Adalberto Costa Junior, who leads the rebel-turned-opposition group UNITA. Audrey Brown speaks to the journalist Israel Campos.

Also in the programme, six months ago, African students emerged from the bomb shelters in Ukraine where they'd been trying to stay safe to cross the border. Focus on Africa caught up with two of them, Korinne Sky and Nana Agyeman to hear what life has been like for them since - and the International Criminal Court's chief prosecutor, Karim Khan, has been in Sudan to investigate war crimes allegedly committed during the rule of the former Sudanese President, Omar al-Bashir.
