At least 5 people have died after violent clashes between protesters and police in Somalia’s breakaway region of Somaliland. The protesters are demanding that presidential elections be held in November, as the president seeks to delay them.
We return to Sierra Leone where cautious calm has returned, after violent protests claimed the lives of at least 27 people, including police officers. The President, Julius Maada Bio has told the BBC that the protests were an act of terrorism, and put the blame squarely on the APC opposition party.
