UK set to deport Nigerian and Ghanaian Migrants
UK rights campaigners concerned over the welfare of Ghanians, and Nigerians being deported today by the British authorities.
Human rights campaigners in the UK say they're concerned over the welfare of Ghanian, and Nigerian men and women being deported today by the British authorities. Some of them have lived in Britain for decades and some of them are affected by mental problems; others could face persecution - either because of their religion or on the basis of their sexual orientation.
In Sierra Leone, the country is playing host to hundreds of delegates from around the world to tackle the issues of sexual violence against women and girls. The tenth Africa Conference on Sexual Health and Rights comes as rape has persisted in the country despite tough new laws to curb it.
We also re-visit demonstrations in Ghana, a coalition of groups, led by the youth group ‘Arise Ghana’ are protesting for a second day against the rising cost of living. Today’s marches have so far been peaceful, unlike on Tuesday when clashes with police erupted and 29 people were arrested.
