
Ugandan author flees the country
Kakwenza Rukirabashaija, has accused the authorities of torturing him whilst in detention
Ugandan author Kakwenza Rukirabashaija, who has accused the authorities of torturing him while he was in detention, has fled the country, his lawyer has confirmed to the BBC. The lawyer did not reveal where the award-winning writer, who had been granted bail by a court, had gone.
The International Court of Justice has ordered Uganda to pay DR Congo three hundred and twenty five million dollars in reparations
And there is outrage in northern Sierra Leone following the death of a nineteen month old child who was held in detention with her mother.
