The BBC has obtained previously unheard phone recordings, offering insight into the last days of Tunisian president Ben Ali’s rule. The protests which prefaced his overthrow spread to countries in the wider region, and would come to be known as the Arab Spring uprisings.

Plus, Malians who support the country’s ruling military junta in its dispute with regional bloc ECOWAS have been rallying in the capital Bamako, to show their support for the suspension of elections.

And we meet Floby, the inspirational Burkinabé musician who went from living on the streets to setting up a festival to celebrate his country’s music and culture.
