Magazine Editor Selma Day: ‘Mayfair has got everything’

As the Editor of the Mayfair Times, this Listed Londoner is happy to champion W1.

Selma Day has been the Editor of the Mayfair Times magazine for more than 20 years.

Originally from Nottingham, she knew she wanted to be a journalist from an early age, inspired in part by family friend and broadcaster Peter Sissons.

After a series of jobs in editorial roles, and a break for motherhood, in 2005 she took over the Mayfair Times after her husband Adrian’s publishing company took it over.

The job has given Selma something of a front-row seat to Mayfair life - from its grand hotels, restaurants and galleries to Savile Row, businesses, and the enormous changes in the area.

Selma Day revealed her London favourites, memories, pet-hates and everything in between to Robert Elms on BBC Radio London.
