‘I was a child marriage victim - there's no excuse now’
A new law banning the traditional practice of child marriage in Sierra Leone has been signed into law by President Julius Maada Bio.
Anyone involved in arranging the marriage of any girls under 18 could get 15 years in jail or fined around $4,000, or both.
Newshour’s Rebecca Kesby asked Sierra Leone's First Lady Fatima Bio, who championed the bill, why this law was so important.
