Episode 4

With performances from Ellie Goulding, Mitski, Pigeon, Wesley Joseph and Westside Cowboy, and chats with jazz legend Courtney Pine and pop icon Simon Le Bon.

Jools welcomes the return of pop superstar Ellie Goulding, who made her TV debut on the show back in 2009. She performs a couple of songs from her forthcoming album and chats to Jools about the record.

Making her debut on the show is singer-songwriter Mitski, who was born in Japan and is now based in the US. Joining the show amidst a huge world tour, she performs two tracks taken from her eighth album Nothing’s About to Happen to Me, recorded with her touring band and a live orchestra.

From Margate, five-piece band Pigeon also make their debut on the show, performing the track Miami taken from their debut album OUTTANATIONAL, recorded between English seaside towns in Kent.

From Walsall, West Midlands, singer and rapper Wesley Joseph performs his track Pluto Baby from his debut album Forever Ends Someday, featuring his own blend of R&B, pop and hip-hop.

From Manchester, Jools also welcomes hotly tipped four piece Westside Cowboy, known for their energetic live performances and interwoven four-part harmonies. They perform the track Kick Stones (The Boys) taken from their debut album It Goes On, having won the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition in 2025.

Also, Jools chats to two legends of music. The first is jazz icon Courtney Pine, who discusses his album Out of The Ghetto: A Modern Day Jazz Story, reflecting on his dual legacy as both subject and curator of his own history, and performs a Duke Ellington standard with Jools at the piano. Jools also chats to 80s legend Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran about their single Free to Love and working with Nile Rodgers.
