Conditions of Entry:

Brain of Britain is a general knowledge quiz open to members of the public. Admission to the series is by application and audition.

To be eligible:
- you must be 18 years or over, and a permanent legal resident of the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.
- you must NOT have been the overall Brain of Britain champion at any point in the programme’s history.
- if you have appeared on the programme before, you must wait five years before applying again. For example, a contestant who appeared in the 2026 series is not eligible again until 2031.
- you cannot be an employee of the BBC or BBC Studios, nor be an immediate family member of them.

The production team retains the right to decide who competes in the series, and the decision to offer a place will be based on audition performance, the applicant’s suitability for appearance in a radio broadcast, and (where competitors are similarly well-qualified) the desire to achieve a balanced range of contributors across the series.
