US President Donald Trump has been rushed to safety at an event in Washington DC.
Mr Trump was at a White House correspondents' dinner, where some of America's major politicians and journalists had gathered for the occasion.
The president was escorted to safety following loud noises outside the ballroom at a Washington hotel, where the event was taking place.
Speaking afterwards, President Trump praised the Secret Service staff who stopped the armed suspect.

Guests were moved to safety after the event
The suspect was taken into custody by the Secret Service, which protects political leaders and their families in the United States.
One US security agent was injured but has since been released from hospital, according to US media outlets.
In 2024 the president was on a stage at an event speaking to supporters in Milwaukee when he was shot at. Mr Trump sufferd a minor injury to his ear.
Speaking about last night's events, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said it was a "huge relief" that President Trump, his wife First Lady Melania Trump and others attending the gala were unharmed.
Mr Starmer added: "Any attack on democratic institutions or on the freedom of the press must be condemned in the strongest possible terms."
