England beat Mexico to reach the World Cup quarter-finals

Whether they watched it live or caught up early this morning, England fans are celebrating after a thrilling game ended in a 2-3 win against Mexico.
Jude Bellingham scored twice before half time with Harry Kane making it a third.
Mexico were a strong opponent with Julian Quinones and Raul Jimenez getting past Jordan Pickford.
England is now through to the quarter finals against Norway.

England's first World Cup 2026 game in the famous Estadio Azteca in Mexico was delayed by one hour because of severe weather.
The two teams wasted no time when the game started.
Before half-time, Jude Bellingham scored twice within 98 seconds.
England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, had his best game so far, stopping two headers from Raul Jimenez from reaching the net.
So it was Julian Quinonses who scored for Mexico three minutes before half time, bringing the score to 1-2 at the break.

England defender Jarell Quansah, was showed the red card after his foot made contact with Mexico's Jesus Gallardo during a tackle.
Harry Kane was able to bring England briefly back to a two goal advantage scoring a penalty after Anthony Gordon was brought down by keeper Raul Rangel.
Raul Jimenez then had his opportunity, scoring from the spot after Kane clipped a player's foot and the referee gives Mexico a penalty.
England managed to hold on against Mexico's pressure through stoppage time ending on 3-2 and earning a place in the quarter finals.
