  2. ECCO Safety Group confirms closure of Bridlington sitespublished at 17:42 BST 11 October 2016

    ECCO Safety Group has confirmed they will close all sites in Bridlington and relocate to new facilities in Leeds.

    Now 154 employees are now in a consultation period to explore relocation and redundancy options.

    The company says the move will modernise facilities, consolodate running costs and be closer to some of the top technical universities.

  6. Paedophile jailed for possessing 14,000 images of childrenpublished at 17:24 BST 11 October 2016

    A man has been has been jailed for two and a half years after thousands of "utterly revolting" images of child sex abuse were discovered on his computer.

    Martin Taylor, 52, pleaded guilty to six counts of making and possessing indecent images. at a previous hearing.

    Police found more than 14,000 indecent images when they raided his house in Auchinleck Close, Driffield in March.

    Taylor also had 8,000 non-pornographic photographs of children he had taken on the street.

    Police have been looking for 13-year-old Elli-Mae since Sunday and are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch. 

    She's believed to be with a 15-year old girl and two boys aged 14 and 16. 

    Elli-Mae was last seen wearing black jeans with ripped knees, a white blouse, khaki parka coat and black Adidas trainers

  8. Taxi drivers 'under attack' in Grimsbypublished at 16:49 BST 11 October 2016

    Taxi drivers in Grimsby say the East Marsh area of the town is becoming a no-go zone. 

    It's because a number of them have had stones thrown at their cars by youngsters and nothing is being done to stop it. 

    I went to speak to some taxi drivers today to hear about their experiences. 

    Police say they are now undertaking inquiries to identify those who may be involved and the matter is being looked into as a priority.

    A paedophile from East Yorkshire has been jailed for two and a half years, after thousands of "utterly revolting" images of child sex abuse were discovered on his computer in an " exceptionally serious case". 

    Martin Taylor, 52, admitted six counts of making and possessing indecent images.

    Hull Crown Court heard that when police raided Taylor's home in Driffield, more than 14,000 indecent photos and videos were found on his computer.

  15. Calls for 24-hour bus lanes in Hullpublished at 14:25 BST 11 October 2016

    Bus companies are calling for a big extension to the operating times of bus lanes in Hull. 

    They want cars banned from them for 12 hours a day, claiming it will reduce confusion about when other vehicles can use the lanes. 

    Drivers were fined a total of £700,000 in the last year in Hull for entering bus-lanes.

    The mystery surrounding the sinking of a Hull trawler has been made into a play, which gets its official world premiere tonight. 

    The Gaul sank in 1974, taking the lives of all 36 men on board. 

    Now, a fictional story about the families left behind is being brought to the stage by Hull-born playwright Janet Plater, daughter of 'Z Cars' writer, Alan Plater. 

    I spoke to Janet and Hull historian Alec Gill about the impact the tragedy had on families. 

  18. Hull man will fly vintage plane to Africapublished at 13:22 BST 11 October 2016

    Twelve teams will fly vintage bi-planes more than 8,000 miles from Crete to Cape Town as part of a flight endurance challenge next month.

    This will be the first time so many vintage bi-planes will have travelled such a distance.

    The teams, will make 37 stops over 35 days after setting off from Crete in loose formation on November 12.

    Zambian-born businessman Martin Wiseman, who lives in Hull, will fly in an Antonov An-2 single-engine Russian bi-plane.
