He is due to hold a courtesy call with Irish President Catherine Connolly, and a bilateral meeting with Taoiseach (Irish Prime Minister) Micheál Martin
Trump will then travel to his golf resort in Doonbeg, County Clare, where the Irish Open golf tournament is being held
Irish authorities have been planning for Trump's visit for months in what will be one of the biggest security operations in the history of the state
Protests against the president's visit are expected to be held in Dublin and Doonbeg

It marks the start of his two-day visit which will include a courtesy call with Irish President Catherine Connolly as well as a bilateral meeting with Taoiseach (Irish Prime Minister) Micheál Martin.
He'll later travel to County Clare to attend the Irish Open golf tournament.

He's travelling on the Qatar-gifted Air Force One. Earlier, we also saw the old Air Force One land.

A small number of crowd control barriers are beside the American Embassy in central Dublin but President Trump is not scheduled to be anywhere near the building.
Located in the upmarket Ballsbridge area of the city, it is not on the President’s two-day itinerary.

The tyres of the old Air Force One, which is landing before the plane carrying the president, kicked up a decent bit of spray as they hit the tarmac, evidence of a wet and rainy start to the day in Ireland's capital.

As you might expect, a major security operation is under way for Donald Trump’s visit.
Dublin’s Phoenix Park is closed to the public today while the US president carries out a number of engagements in the area.
The huge park, which incorporates the Irish president's residence Áras an Uachtaráin, is also the location of Dublin Zoo, which is likewise closed today.
Very significant Garda (Irish Police) resources have been allocated to policing the visit.
The Irish Defence Forces are supporting the operation, while gardaí have also been working with the US Secret Service ahead of this weekend.

He’ll also attend events at the US ambassador’s residence in Dublin’s Phoenix Park.
Trump will later travel to County Clare, where he’ll attend the Amgen Irish Open at Trump International Golf Links and Hotel Doonbeg, which he owns.
His visit will take him from Dublin to the west coast before he's due to leave Ireland on Sunday.
