Will BT-EE merger mean higher mobile phone costs?

BT has agreed the terms of a deal to buy the UK's largest mobile phone operator, EE.

The takeover, which is subject to approval by BT's shareholders and clearance from the Competition and Markets Authority, is worth ÂŁ12.5bn.

Orange and T-Mobile have already merged.

Rudolf van der Berg is a researcher at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and says the reduction in operators might lead to an increase in prices.
