The Blast On Tour truck is coming to Abbey Park in Leicester from Friday 24 August to Monday 27 August 2007!

For anybody who can't wait to get involved Blast On Tour taster sessions will be held on Thursday 23 August in the BBC Leicester Open Learning Centre, from 14:00-17:30.

To take part in any of the workshops it is essential that you apply to the event and complete a consent form...

The Blast truck tours the UK offering free workshops developed specially for 13–19 year-olds, including one to one surgeries and hands-on experience in developing skills to express creative ideas.

Blast On Tour: Bristol

The truck is equipped with state of the art technology and showcases the work created by young people across BBC platforms – both digital and in real space and real time.

Platforms will include national television as well as BBC Local Radio and Regional TV, live web casts on the Blast website and downloads to mobiles.

The Leicester Blast event will be offering sessions in music, video making, short film making, editing, fashion, DJ’ing, singing, dancing and graffiti art and much more!

Scrap Fashion

Do you have an eye for a good outfit? Think you could be the next Stella McCartney or Jasper Conrad?

Try your hand at being a fashion icon by making your own styles from scrap clothes.

The Blast team will provide the material, but you're welcome to bring any of your old gear that needs a revamp!

Scrap Fashion is a two day workshop held on Thursday 23 August from 14:00-17:30, and Friday 24 August from 12:00-14:30

Blast On Tour: Birmingham

VJing

Almost all major clubs now have an expert VJ on hand to provide visuals to go with the dance music.

This hands-on workshop will allow you to mix and scratch video in a similar way to how DJs cut up records.

You can take part in VJing on Saturday 25 August from 16:00-18:30, or Sunday 26 August from 12:00-14:30

Bhangra Dance

This high energy dance form involves drums and lots of enthusiasm!

Don't worry if you've never tried it before - the Blast team will be on hand to help you feel confident and ensure you have a good time!

All abilities are welcome to join the Bhangra workshop on Sunday 26 August from 15:30-17:30.

Feeling a little ghoulish?

Come and experience how to create special FX with the people who bring you Doctor Who!

Get to grips with the subject on Monday 27 August from 12:00-14:30
