This workshop will explore the full spectrum of the creative use of human vocals in contemporary music making, led by a double act of two of the most respected names in UK contemporary music making, Jason Singh and Carol Leeming. Both artists have experience in a range of genres, covering Hip Hop, House/ Techno, Funk, Soul, Nu Jazz and more. Workshop participants will be able to discover more about the history and application of the techniques of Beatboxing, Black music singing styles, ways of layering vocal sounds percussively, developing harmonies and how to make the most of recording. This workshop is part of BASS Music Festival 2007, with has a range of events taking place across the Midlands throughout June, celebrating Black music and art.
