There seems to be a bit of a musical theme going down in Loughborough this June. Two critically acclaimed jazz musicians will be treating their audiences to their own very distinct styles of jazz... Kenny Ball is in his 50th year in the music business but seems to have lost little of his original energy! The jazz man and his Jazzmen have a lot of experience behind them since their first chart hit in 1960. There's the 14 records that have made the Top 30 (an achievement never equalled by any other jazz musician), a particular number two hit with 'Midnight In Moscow', and of course the four year spell on 'Morecambe and Wise', and 'Saturday Night at The Mill'. Now you have the opportunity to witness the jazz great first hand at Loughborough Town Hall. Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen will be performing on Thursday 14 June, at 19:30. Tickets are £14/£12 and are available from LTH Box Office. Soweto Kinch | | Soweto Kinch |
Soweto Kinch will be bringing his unique fusion of jazz, hiphop and poetry to Leicestershire when he performs at Loughborough Town Hall. The young musician has already won a huge selection of industry awards including the Mercury Music Prize for Album of The Year, MOBO and Urban Music Awards for Best Jazz Act, and a whole pile of BBC Radio Jazz Awards. Soweto will be performing the first installment of his new two-part project entitled 'A Life in the day of B19'. The work follows three different characters as they come to terms with the pitfalls of celebrity, that is, a mix of romantic entanglements and the solitude of the musicians quest. Soweto Kinch will be performing on Thursday 21 June, at 19:30. Tickets are £12/£10 and are available from LTH Box Office.
