Blackpool based Bosh Records picked up Jason's next E.P, "Chrisss… u dew it" due for release on 16 June 2003, a 3 track club cracker, with the standout tune being "F*** Hodges".
Remixes of which, by East Coast Boogiemen, Freaks, and Sneak will be released on Oomph next. Sneaks affiliation with Blackpool started after Doc Martin had badgered him to join him in the Honolulu of the North, as Doc had been working with Shabooms own Mark Bell, a.k.a. Blakkat under their Blakdoktor guise.
On one of his many UK tours, Sneak eventually crumbled and headed for Blackpool, armed only with a bag of disco cuts and a huge bag of double depth northern lights, which then went up in smoke. The partnership was forged.
The three went on to create Kingsize Funk, whose "Release the Pressure" became the soundtrack to Ibiza for 2000 after being championed from jocks like Danny Rampling, Roger Sanchez & Pete Tong.
Sneak's current album project has been under construction with Mr. Bell over the last 18 months. Working for Shaboom, I have been lucky enough to hear titles from the album as they have been lovingly crafted.
"Fix My Sink" was the first installment from the album, the next taste is a Balearic track called "Summer Song". Destined to be one of THE tracks of the coming summer, it was originally written by Sneak, Doc Martin, and Mark Bell.
The song is introducing new vocals by newcomer diva Tyra Fennell a.k.a. Aswan. The result is a gorgeous guitar groover that is perfect daytime poolside fodder for Coastline, and at sundown, the soundtrack at Mambo.
With rumour of a remix from Peppermint Jams head-honcho Mousse T in the pipeline, you know your going to be humming this baby well into the Winter months. The album contains a balanced mixture of 'songs' and 'tracks', something for almost everyone.
Club bound tracks like "funky rhythm" with its jackin' beats, dirty bass and a monologue from the man himself (sneak), luscious love songs like "can't wait for your love", "incredible", "morning come" and extra terrestrial enticing "on the inside".
Sneak's new LP is a collection of real music from the big guys heart, pictures he has painted to let us see what's in his head, and not a load formulaic drivel bundled together and called an "album".
This Summer Sneak is doing regular dates in Ibiza with Underwater & Space numerous dates in Europe, Belgium, Holland where "Smokemon" as he is known amongst other things (he even has a cartoon character, and its bang on!) due to his infamous love of the 'erb, is always welcomed by an adorning audience.
In August Sneak headlines Tribal Gathering's 10th birthday bonanza, a 16 hour spectacular return to the debaucherous days of acid house at a secret warehouse location in Manchester.
Other artists booked include long time hombre Derrick Carter, Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier and Groove Armada.
