Directed by and starring Laurence Olivier in the title role, this film version of the play was critically acclaimed and a huge success. Not only was it the first British film to ever win an Oscar for Best Picture, Laurence Olivier also got one for Best Actor, alongside one for Best Costume Design and Best Set Decoration.
