Countryfile

John Craven and Anita Rani are in Cumbria to see how arable farmers more used to rain than drought have fared after a record-breaking dry summer. John visits a farm in the south of the county that is sticking with a crop dependent on wet weather, despite a failed harvest. In the north east of the county, Anita discovers how one family has turned to a heritage grain that could help secure its future.

Adam Henson sees how the hot weather has affected his livestock, and the Countryfile Ramble for BBC Children in Need is back this autumn! To kick things off, John is joined by Matt Baker and Pudsey to introduce the first of a group of children supported by projects funded by the charity.
