Angelina Jolie is one of Hollywood's hottest properties. The daughter of Jon Voight ("Midnight Cowboy") and new wife of Billy Bob Thornton ("Armageddon", "Pushing Tin"), she moved into acting seven years ago while a Film Studies student at New York University. For an actor who is relatively young - 25 - she has made a substantial impact on film, most notably in the last two years, bagging a coveted Oscar in March 2000 for her stunning performance in "Girl, Interrupted".

With her move into fully-fledged action films coming next year with "Tomb Raider"; she is on the brink of something even bigger. Not since Sigourney Weaver has there been a true female action star and Jolie has the essential credentials.

Big-budget action movie "Gone in 60 Seconds" makes the most of Angelina's stunning looks, while "The Bone Collector" allows for a more emotional range and wider use of her talent. But to see what Jolie's really capable of, her Oscar-winning portrayal of a disturbed young woman in "Girl, Interrupted" is the one to see. Well deserving of her 'Best Supporting Actress' Oscar, she effortlessly outshone her co-star and former Hollywood golden girl Winona Ryder.

Jolie has proved she is an actor of diverse talents, and if she pulls off her role as computer babe Lara Croft, stardom undoubtedly beckons.
