Cath Cole (Rebecca Front)
Cath is Don's long-suffering wife. Mostly wheelchair-bound, she suffers from multiple sclerosis but tries to maintain a sunny, optimistic outlook on life. This isn't easy when you're married to a man like Don, and seen as an obstacle to getting her man by a woman like Jill.
Despite all this, Cath tries to be a good Christian, always reluctant to believe the worst of people. For this reason Jill got away with emotional blackmail, violence, humiliation and emptying Cath's purse.
But eventually, after one humiliation too many (namely, Don drunkenly leering at Jill poledancing, and groping the Vicar's wife's breasts), Cath left him. They're now trying to work through their marital problems in a new town.
