Mancunian actor Ben Crompton has come a long way since he started out as a performer. An early job was with a German tour of Les Miserables.
He put in three series of Clocking Off, the fantastic factory comic-drama by Paul Abbott. On the big screen he's appeared in Mike Leigh's heartbreaking drama All or Nothing and the disappointing Josh Hartnett vehicle, Blow Dry (but so did Rachel Griffiths, Bill Nighy and Alan Rickman, and they should've known better).
Most recently he's turned up as the light-fingered scally Colin in the Johnny Vegas comedy, Ideal.
