What is Black History Month?

Black History Month in October is a chance to explore the rich history, traditions and cultures of Black communities. We can learn how music, food, art, language, fashion and traditions have travelled across generations and influenced the world around us. It is also an opportunity to discover important moments in history, including the journeys and experiences of Black communities and the changes people have worked hard to create. By exploring these stories and traditions, today's society can develop curiosity about different cultures and learn how our diverse backgrounds help make our communities special.
