What is Black History Month?
October’s Black History Month encourages society to ask questions, explore new perspectives and learn about the experiences of Black people throughout history. It can be a time to discover powerful stories of community, courage, creativity and change, while learning about important events and movements that have shaped society. Black History Month also provides celebrates Black culture of today, from literature and music, to sport, film and the arts. Most importantly, it encourages us to learn from history, appreciate different experiences and think about how we can help create a fairer and more inclusive world.
