SIN Cru

Shake it like a Polaroid!

Poppin', locking and beatboxing, are not terms related to a little tussle in the ring, but some of the courses on offer at a week-long hip hop school in Cambridge for kids, 'da yoof' and adults too!

SIN Cru Hip Hop Week

  • Hip hop courses, Monday 9th to Friday 13th April 2007 at the Centre at St Paul's, Cambridge
  • Book your place with SIN Cru on 01223 520379

Cambridge Hip Hop Week (CHHW07) is five days of intensive courses in dance, art and music for kids and adults in the region.

The event is run by SIN Cru, a hip hop collective based in Cambridge. They started off as a graffiti crew and have evolved into getting the next generation of young people involved with hip hop and their workshops on learning breakdance, DJ'ing and MC'ing.

The action will jump-off at the Centre at St Paul's, in Cambridge's Hills Road, from Monday 9th to Friday 13th April 2007. Courses at the school include beginners, improvers and masterclass breakin' (breakdance), hip hop dance, DJ'ing, MC'ing, graffiti art and clothing customisation.

Check this move out!

This year world famous turntablist and all round rocker DJ First Rate runs the DJ workshop; respected UK MC Jehst demonstrates mic skills and international Sinstars including Leon from Swiss Crew No Half Stepping are teaching B-Boy Masterclass workshops.

The Cambridge Hip Hop Week after-party, Urban Sinfonie, closes the week with showcases, performances and exhibitions from participants of CHHW07.

If you would like to do the infamous 'body pop' and immerse yourself in hip hop culture then you need to register with SIN Cru on 01223 520379. There is a limited number of places on all courses, so it is advisable to book early.
