Conway discusses the attitudes towards dress at society events such as Henley and Ascot

Every June, Royal Ascot summons the fashion-conscious to Britain's most famous racecourse for a week of hats and horses. Long a grand social fixture for the country crowd, the style of Royal Ascot still conforms to a very strict dress code, and is one of the final outposts of the classic Sloane look. Likewise, Henley Royal Regatta - the rowing event held every year on the River Thames since 1839 - retains a rigid sense of formal elegance and sophistication. At both events, rules are not made to be broken.
