- Contact you with information relating to your participation.
- Organise and deliver the Student Critics programme and related activities.

The BBC collects personal data about you in your capacity as the adult responsible for the group, through an online application form. This may include:
- Name
- Work phone number
- Work email address (where applicable)
- Job title / position
- Name and address of the school, college, library or youth organisation
- Preference regarding receiving information about future competitions
Lawful basis for processing your personal data
The lawful basis on which the BBC processes your personal data is the performance of a public task carried out in the public interest. The BBC’s public task is defined in its Royal Charter. This includes acting in the public interest and providing content and services that inform, educate and entertain, as well as delivering high-quality and distinctive output across a range of genres, services and platforms in the United Kingdom and internationally.

Sharing your personal data
The BBC works with our approved third-party providers who help us to provide some of our services. These partners only use your personal data on behalf of the BBC and not independently of the BBC.

How long does BBC keep your personal data
We will retain your personal data for up to six months after your participation in Student Critics, after which it will be securely deleted.
If you opted in to receive information about future Student Critics events, we will retain your contact details for this purpose until you withdraw your consent.

Your personal data will be stored in the UK and the European Economic Area (EEA).

- Request a copy of the personal data BBC has about you.
