McCartan and King axed
Shane King of Down and Bryansford
Shane King omitted from Down's 2004 county squad
James McCartan and Shane King have been axed from Down's 2004 county panel.

McCartan and King were prominent in the Mournemen's progress to the Ulster final last season, but now find themselves omitted from the 30-man squad.

Also out are veteran Mickey Linden, Glen McMahon. Patrick Pearse McCartan and Declan Rooney.

Down boss Paddy O'Rourke has made wholesale changes with seven new players added to the 2003 panel including Loughinisland's Joe Doran the youngest member of the squad.

The other new faces are Gerard McCrickard, Aidan Shields, Stephen Kearney, Sean Farrell and Peter Turley.
