St Helens prop George Delaney will miss the rest of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery.
The 22-year-old suffered the injury in last week's derby defeat at Wigan Warriors.
Delaney scored two tries in 20 appearances for Saints this season.
The loss at their rivals was a seventh reverse in the past 11 games in all competitions for the injury-hit side.
Head coach Paul Rowley left the club the day before the Wigan match and Eamon O'Carroll has been put in interim charge until the end of the campaign.
They are seventh in the table, level on points with sixth-placed Hull KR but having played a game more, as they look to avoid missing out on the play-offs for the first time in Super League history.
