Saints' Lomax suffers fractured jaw in Wire defeat

St Helens half-back Jonny Lomax will require surgery having fractured his jaw during his side's Super League defeat by Warrington Wolves.
The 35-year-old was forced off in the first half of Thursday's loss and was sent to hospital.
A statement on the Saints website, external said that the surgery "will happen as soon as possible" but the club did not offer a timeframe for his absence.
"Thank you to all the fans who have messaged the club asking for an update," the club said. "We have let Jonny know about all your support, and it is truly appreciated at this time."

Lomax has made a total of 387 appearances for the club, including nine so far this season.
"He's in a pretty bad way," St Helens head coach Paul Rowley said following the defeat. "He took a very heavy knock and there's a bit of damage to his jaw and face.
"We send our best wishes. He's a champion bloke and player.
"He's got a battle on his hands to get back fit and well. He'll do what Jonny does and attack it, so he'll be OK, I think."
