Kidderminster Harriers have confirmed the appointment of Paul Wotton as their new manager, following the departure of Adam Murray to AFC Barrow.

Harriers secured promotion back to the National League at the second attempt earlier this month, but boss Murray departed following their 2-0 victory over South Shields in the National League North play-off final.

In their search to succeed Murray, who took Kidderminster backroom staff Sam Rush and Luca Nicosia with him to Holker Street, Harriers turned to Wotton, who has been out of work since he was sacked by Torquay United in March.

Wotton, 48, made just short of 500 appearances for Plymouth Argyle across two spells spanning 20 years during his playing career.

He then spent five years in charge of Truro City after hanging up his boots and joined Torquay in 2024.

The Gulls parted company with Wotton earlier this year when a five-match winless run saw them relinquish top spot in the National League South and he was temporarily replaced by veteran Neil Warnock, who had joined the club's board in an advisory role in 2024.

Harriers' director of football Dean Holdsworth said: "From our first conversation with myself and the chairman, Paul stood out as exactly the type of leader we wanted for this football club.

"He has the experience, qualifications, standards and mentality to drive us forward, and his ambition matches our own.

"He knows what it takes to build successful, competitive teams and we're confident he is the right man to lead us into the next challenge. We are looking forward to an exciting new season."
