Cotterill given three-game ban for Grimsby red card

Cheltenham Town manager Steve Cotterill has been handed a three-game touchline ban by the Football Association (FA) following his red card at the end of their draw with Grimsby Town.
Cotterill was involved in a scuffle with Grimsby coach Raymond Shearwood after the final whistle of the game earlier this month, during an incident featuring a number of players from both sides.
The Robins boss, 62, has also been fined £2,250 while Shearwood, who was also sent off, has been given a one-game ban and £450 fine by the FA.
Cheltenham and Grimsby have also been fined £6,750 and £5,500 respectively for failing to ensure their players did not behave in a way that was improper or provocative.
The match ended 2-2, with Grimsby scoring an equaliser in the 82nd minute.
Cotterill, Shearwood, Cheltenham and Grimsby admitted the charges against them.
Cotterill will now miss Cheltenham's League Two games away at Colchester on Saturday and at home to Chesterfield on 26 September, as well as the EFL Trophy match at home to Exeter on 22 September.
