Shrewsbury Town have signed Arkell Jude-Boyd on a two-year deal after the defender was released by League Two rivals Cheltenham.
The 23-year-old, who also has a further 12-month option on his contract, moves to Croud Meadow after two seasons with the Robins.
Jude-Boyd, a St Lucia international that came through the youth system at Queens Park Rangers, featured 83 times in all competitions for Cheltenham.
Shrewsbury say they "beat off competition from a host" of rivals clubs to sign the defender.
"Competition for players has been fierce," said Shrewsbury manager Gavin Cowan.
"What really stood out about Arkell was his desire - his desire to do well, to compete and to be part of what we're building here."
