Plymouth Argyle captain Joe Edwards has signed a new one-year deal to remain at the League One club.
The 35-year-old has made 282 appearances for the Pilgrims across seven seasons, scoring 24 goals.
Last campaign he played 41 times in all competitions as Plymouth finished eighth in the table.
And head coach Tom Cleverley said making sure Edwards extended his stay at the club was a key part of their summer susiness.
"One of my main priorities for this summer was ensuring Joe was with us for another season," he told the club. , external
"He is our captain, a leader and an exceptional influence both on and off the pitch. He is still fitter than ever and was an important part of the squad throughout last season, continuing to influence proceedings.
"Joe's signing is an important first step this summer as we look to form a squad to build on our strong second half of last season."
