Stoke confirm Harvey as new technical director

Stoke will be playing in the Championship for a ninth consecutive campaign next season

Stoke City have confirmed the appointment of Stuart Harvey as their new technical director.
Harvey, 45, most recently spent four years as the head of player recruitment at Sunderland, during which time he helped to lift the Black Cats out of League One and up to the Premier League.
Before arriving at Sunderland, Harvey had spent six years in various roles at Blackburn Rovers.
At Stoke, he will report to sporting director Jonathan Walters.

"His knowledge and experience have been built across a number of clubs and environments throughout his career. Stuart has developed a strong reputation in the game and understands the standards and detail needed to help drive success.
"This appointment is another important step as we continue to strengthen the football club in all areas, and Stuart's arrival shows the ambition and commitment to keep moving the club forward and give us the best possible platform to be successful on the pitch."
Stoke finished 17th in the Championship this season under manager Mark Robins and have not finished in the top half of the table since being relegated from the Premier League in 2018.
