Sutton United midfielder Jake Taylor has been named club captain and signed a new deal to keep him at Gander Green Lane for another two years.
The 34-year-old takes the armband from defender Edon Pruti, who was skipper for the 2025-26 campaign, in which the U's finished 19th in the National League and avoided relegation by five points.
Taylor, who made 24 league appearances for Sutton after joining from Eastleigh in November 2025, said he was "incredibly proud" to be named captain.
"It's a responsibility I never take for granted, and I'm determined to do everything I can to help make this team as successful as possible," he told the club website., external
"We have high ambitions, and I'm excited to be leading the group both on and off the pitch."
Manager Chris Agutter said: "When Jake Taylor joined the football club, Sutton United were bottom of the table staring relegation in the face – his impact since joining us has been massive."
