Irish Premiership side Glentoran have confirmed that midfielder Cameron Palmer will join Scottish Championship side Livingston upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the month.

Palmer made 105 appearances and scored four goals for the Glens since joining in 2023 after two years at rivals Linfield.

The 26-year-old had an impressive season and scored three goals during 46 starts across all competitions.

As a result, he was voted Glentoran's Player of the Year as well as being included in the Northern Ireland Football Writers' Association Premiership Team of the Year.

"The opportunity to move to Scotland, challenge myself in a new environment and be closer to my family made this the right decision for me at this stage of my career," Palmer said.

"That said, leaving Glentoran is not easy because I've genuinely loved my time at this football club. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed by the supporters, my teammates and everyone around the club and I'll always be grateful for that.

"This season has been hugely rewarding for me personally and to be voted player of the year by the supporters is something I'll always be incredibly proud of."

Palmer 'a top professional' - Devine

Glentoran finished third in the Irish Premiership this season after a challenging end to the campaign but secured the final European spot when Coleraine won the Irish Cup.

Livingston were relegated from the Scottish Premiership last season after finishing 13 points adrift.

Glentoran manager Declan Devine thanked the midfielder for his contribution during his three years at the east Belfast club.

"Cameron has been an absolute pleasure to work with from the moment I arrived at the football club," Devine said.

"He's a top professional, an outstanding human being and someone who sets standards every single day through the way he trains, prepares and carries himself around the group.

"His performances this season have been exceptional and naturally we're disappointed to lose a player of Cameron's quality, but we fully understand and respect his desire to move closer to his family and test himself in Scottish football."
