Banton ruled out of IPL with finger injury

England batter Tom Banton has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a finger injury.

Banton, 27, was signed by Gujarat Titans for his first IPL stint since 2021 but leaves the tournament having not played a game.

Gujarat, who are currently sixth in the table, have signed South Africa wicketkeeper-batter Connor Esterhuizen as his replacement.

Banton was part of England's T20 World Cup squad earlier this year, scoring 155 runs in eight innings during their run to the semi-final.
