Glamorgan reach final in 'bittersweet' fashion

Glamorgan head coach Rachel Priest says it was "bittersweet" to reach the Metro Bank One Day Cup Women's League Two final by their fixture against Kent being rained off in Cardiff.

Both sides won six and lost two in the league phase, but the Welsh county qualified for the final after finishing second in the table, ahead of third-placed Kent courtesy of two bonus points.

They will face Middlesex in Sunday's final in Bristol after the table-toppers beat Northamptonshire by 29 runs.

"We can't control the weather. I guess the benefit of finishing higher up in the table is that we do get the benefit of how it's gone," said Priest.

"It's sort of a bittersweet feeling, but we're really, really excited for another final."

Glamorgan have the chance to lift another trophy after they won the League Two T20 Blast in July.

"We're really excited that we've put ourselves in that position to go for the double," Priest added.

"Winning the T20 was special, and we know that Middlesex will be a tough game.

"Finals cricket is tough and and there is a lot of pressure on us already having won one trophy."

Glamorgan lack match practice having played just two competitive games since August.

One of them was against their final opponents Middlesex, who comfortably beat them by 10 wickets.

Captain Lauren Parfitt, Glamorgan's top scorer in 2026, believes their T20 exploits can help them rise to the occasion.

"We've been in a final already this season and that puts us in good stead. It gives the group confidence," said Parfitt, one of four players confirmed to have signed contracts ahead of Glamorgan turning professional next season.

"Being in a final and being on the winning side is a great achievement. To be able to do that again next week would be brilliant."
