Irish boxers Daina Moorehouse and Dean Clancy have both missed out on medals at the World Boxing Cup in Brazil after going down to defeats at the quarter-final stage.

Moorehouse lost her last-eight contest to Alua Balkibekova of Kazakhstan on a unanimous decision in Foz Do Iguaca.

All five judges scored the 51kg fight 30-27 to the 2025 world champion.

Sligo boxer Clancy went down on a split decision to Brazil's Yuri Falcao in the last eight of the 65kg division.

Two judges awarded the bout in Clancy's favour, but three awarded the fight to his opponent.
