Wrexham women's all-time leading goal scorer Rosie Hughes will leave the club when her contract expires this summer.

The 30-year-old striker is one of seven players Wrexham have confirmed will leave the Adran Premier champions, with Neve Adams, Leah Burke, Abbie Iddenden, Carra Jones, Erin Lovett and Hannah Snape also departing.

Hughes played a key part in Wrexham's rise from the Genero Adran North to becoming Adran Premier champions for the first time this season.

She scored an incredible 24 goals in nine games during Wrexham's promotion-winning campaign from the Adran North three years ago.

This season Hughes has nine league goals, only bettered in the squad by Katie Barker, despite only starting six league games.

In October 2023, Hughes scored her 100th goal for Wrexham, reaching the mark in just her 46th appearance for the club in a 3-1 success against The New Saints.

Last November, Hughes made her 100th appearance for Wrexham, becoming the first woman to reach the milestone for the club since the women's side was reformed in 2018.

That century came in the first round of the Bute Energy Welsh Cup, when Wrexham trounced third-tier side NFA (the North Football Association club based in Rhyl) - l 11-0 with Hughes marking her milestone with four goals.

Wrexham also see three players retire from playing duties, with former captain Keren Allen and midfielder Mari Gibbard calling time on their careers, while goalkeeper Chloe Ankers has decided to pause her playing career to focus on her coaching.

Barker, Jodie Bartle, Maria Francis-Jones and Lili Jones are already under contract for the 2026-27 season, while 10 other players in the squad have been offered new deals.
