Leeds are at a juncture this summer.
The Whites ultimately cruised to Premier League safety with relative ease, when at one point it looked as though they might be mired in a relegation battle.
All the credit must go to manager Daniel Farke for finding the right formula midway through the season with his job reportedly on the line. Leeds' business last summer hit all the right notes with midfielder Anton Stach and striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin both fair shouts for the signings of the season.
The Whites need to find players capable of making a similar impact this time around, which is easier said than done. From the outside however, establishing some stability in the goalkeeping department would seem a good place to start.
Brazilian keeper Lucas Perri was one of the few new signings who failed to impress last season, and the fact Leeds ended the season with 35-year-old career No 2 Karl Darlow between the sticks speaks volumes about what needs to be done this summer.
Rushworth's stock is high and rising after a breakout year on loan from Brighton to Coventry City in the Championship. The 24-year-old was kept a league-high 17 clean sheets and was voted Fan's Player of the Year, Player's Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year at the club's end of season awards, for his role within the Sky Blues' stingy defence.
The Seagulls are always open for business if the price is right – Leeds would be wise to test the waters for a keeper who could be knocking on the door for an England call-up soon.
